it shouldnt even have been available for pre-order until it had a confirmed ship date.

I think Final Fantasy XIII has been available for pre-order for at least a year now (if not longer).

That's funny though, about Duke Nukem Forever. Poor guy won't get his 10 bucks back :(

What's the point of pre-ordering it so early? A game that is bound to do well in the market would probably have tone of orders by the game store. And your copy is always secure if you pre ordered it like a month away

I think these days people pre-order to get a bonus if it is offered, for example when I pre-ordered Legend of Zelda Wind Waker for Game Cube I got Ocarina of Time and the Master Quest version, which also tells you the last time I have pre-ordered anything.

Thats why I pre order. but the last few items I pre orederd for the " Pre order and get____" bonus ( SMT Persona 4.SMT DS2. InFAMOUS) you still got the bonus even if you did not pre order it.

that wasn't a pre-order exclusive, it was just a limited edition.

Well, the game WAS called DNF. ;)

But yeah, I go to my local store and preorder (and pay for in full) all the games I want coming out the following month either on the 24th or 25th of every month. That way, I can just stop off at the store on my way home on the day the game has come out without waiting in queues or needing any money on me. I certainly wouldn't wait longer than a month for a preorder.
