i am using the following converter... http://www.aunsoft.com/mkv-converter/

if you look at the requirements, the CPU requirement is low...well..i got an intel core 2 duo T6600 @ 2.20GHZ per core...and i'm overloading my CPU usage o_O anyone know what the cause is? cuz when i pause the conversion, it goes to like, 0% usage -.-"

Converting movies causes the CPU to go high.

    It's pretty normal.

Just because the requirements are low doesn't mean it won't use everything you let it have in order to do what it needs to do.

That's not the problem. The problem is, why is the CPU at 100% while the program's instructions say it doesn't need that much CPU power.

Your CPU doesn't make noise. You are hearing either your Hard Drive or the various fans in your PC to keep it cool. Could be the general fan, CPU fan, or GPU fan.

So the sound doesn't mean your CPU has to be working hard, it could be other parts of your PC.
