I live in Singapore and would like to purchase a book from Amazon. Thing is, I'm not exactly sure how the process works. Can anyone explain the full process from after I pay?
Im pretty sure they just send it the next business day. Thats how it works here anyway, my dads a transport manager, when they get the call they pick it up, transport it to the nearest depot and off it goes.
packaged sent to the dock shipped or flew to designations mail office or post office then driven to you remember they are still some steps in-between. hope it helps
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=596184 Make sure they ship it first. You should get a confirmation that the order was processed and mailed. Depending on the class of the mail, where it's coming from, and the time it was mailed that business day, could take a good few days.
So if they send directly to Singapore's post office, the post office will then drive to my house and send it to me?
If you have a carrier(the one who drops off the mail) on your route. But most likely, you'll get a knock on your door, and have to sign for your package. Like Fed-EX does.
Well here they just try again the next business day, if your still not in they leave a card for you to call and arrange a time.
What msg said, they'll just take it back to the post office and try again the next day. After that you might have to go to the office and pick it up.
But as long as I collect it over there within a few days, it should be okay right? And is there a way to find out my country's tax prices via the internet?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=468512 That should help on the tax and yes, you'll be able to pick it up, with no problems. Edit: Ignore that other link, I was thinking something else. One last link: http://parkablogs.com/content/guide-buying-and-shipping-amazon-singapore ^^ that is a blog from a Singapore blog, all about shipping
Thanks to everyone who helped. I'm just wondering why the price goes so high when I add the box price.
