How do you use special moves in Tecmo Bowl Kickoff?

    I've been playing for awhile and I have yet to do one. Are they random? Do you active it with a button? I wish I knew because I don't have an instruction booklet...

    P.S. I searched the internet for this info before posting this, I found nothing -_-
