I have no idea how to make cheats. I found this cheatmaker on the EDGE website (i use and edge card by the way) called r4cce. I don't have a clue what I'm doing, some assistance would be nice .
You need to get cheat codes from somewhere to put into R4cce. Have you tried just downloading the cheat database from GBATemp? http://cheats.gbatemp.net/ It's a lot simpler than compiling your own. I assume you know where the cheat file is stored on your MicroSD, just replace the one you have there with the one from GBATemp. If you've already done all this and the cheat you want isn't in there, then tell me and I'll tell you more about R4cce.
