Hello recently i acquired a brand new desktop PC,a nd to m y surprise as soon as i started it it says something of blocking drivers from tages protection, the thing is that it wont show up in the control panel and on the flip side google points me i need to remove two files from C:/windows/system32/drivers which i dont want to do since i guess i could damage the OS in the process, i am asking because it seems the reason for my PC to be crashing at random intervals, it comes with windows home basic. i ran a malware bytes scan there are no malware hiding on my PC, avast! also pinpoints there are 0 threats on my PC.i know the computer has "crashed" since the avast icon gets stuck on a half loop and the clock cant decide whenether to pass from 10 to 20 (4:10 jumps to 4:20 and gets stuck between the one and the two. with that out of the way i guess the drivers are making the PC crash, or avast dint install properly
for the crash i dont get an error message, the way i notice is via avast mini icon erratic behaivor, usually the vast sphere is doing a full circle, once the crash kicks in it stops, it still keeps trying to do the full circle but something is stopping it. For the other windows says it blocked a driver from tages protection inc (googling them seems they are an anti pirate company that messes with the CD lectors to make non original DVD's unreadable, in other words, if you dint buy the thing from a retailer, or is a CD/DVD you did by yourself it seems they program/driver blocks the reading process) i click seek an online fix and it comes with nothing.
you need to find the program that came with that protection and uninstall it. It sounds a bit like starforce was, to be honest, that was well known for completely screwing up PCs.
problem wont show up in my installed programs, microsfot tells me to download an update for the driver, and it send me to their webpage that has nothing at all http://www.tagesprotection.com/main.htm it doesnt tells me about drivers, nothing.
something like driver cleaner may be able to remove it, otherwise you need to manually find all the files and registry entries and remove them.
drive cleanner got it, i read that the files are on system 32/Drivers on koskea.net but i dont like messing with the system 32 files. Post Merge: [time]1334432340[/time] fixed it i managed to acess their download page and got the driver program, and i uninstalled it, now it is working lkie a charm.
