First, we need to know what you have. Do you have any hardware, like a flash cart? If not, get yourself something called a "Slot-1 Device". Popular brands are R4DS, CycloDS, Acekard 2, and Supercard. You can find them in online stores. From there, all you need to do is get a text reader program on the device and then load your text files on. (I'd post links, but it differs for each device)

R4 III is one of the better R4 clones, and to my knowledge is supported. It is the original R4DS that isn't.

Right, if so, use Moonshell for .txt files. R4 built in text reader muddles up the text files, which makes them look horrible. They are called ebooks (text Notepad files). .pdfs aren't able to read yet though.

Elspudo: Am I to assume you have the eBook in standard eBook format? I'm not entirely sure how it works, but you could try DSReader (http://gbax.gp2x.de/gbax2007.html), although I hear you absolutely must have a "root:\DSReader\" directory placed on your card before you use it or it will corrupt.

Another idea is to use ReadMore (http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.php?t=12810), which would require you to convert your ebooks into .txt files. It would be similar to using MoonShell to read it, with the exception of the text appear in book format (page one on the top screen, page two on the bottom screen, rotated kinda' like Brain Age).

...and that's as far as I'm Googling.

    Moonshell comes with R4 firmware.

R4 does have a text reader, but it doesn't wrap them and usually they look horrible. If you still want to, Go hit Select once you are in the Games selection. This will change the folder views, so keep hitting Select until you see your text file. I recommend you use Moonshell to do it.
