    Try using different video plugins,
Which emulator did you use, and what game?

Switch to ePSXe, the game is playable on it.
Check the previous post for the tutorial.

Its always easer to turn your whole disc into a mdf/mds/cue image and run it of your hard drive

For games like ridge racer and tomb raider use Alcohol 120% mdf/mds/cue images that keep the audio files and prevent craching and freezeing with certin games

But yes ePSXe is a better emulator, But i do like psxfin for certin games , Its best to have both emulators!

Just copy everything from the 'memcard' folder of PSXFIN, and then copy it to where the ePSXe folder was.
