How did Romulation get its name?

I'm curious:

• How did Romulation get its name?
• Who gave came up with the name?
• If it wasn't called Romulation what would it be called instead?
• What were previous names that was thought of before the name "Romulation" came along?

 

rom as in rom and ulation as in emulation
seph came up with the name
it used to be called... ugh can't remember

 

I saw the original romulation site...forgot the topic...but let's say it's evolved ALOT since.


Maybe this site was gonna be rom *BEEP* because it rymes with "ulation".


*Omittted because it's another rom site, a dead one but one that is still active yet has a simerlar name.

I'm also curious as to why the site's mascot is a Polar Bear.

One of the admins (forgot which but I think it was Loonylion) said that they made it a polar bear long ago.

I want to know who came up with the idea and when.

 

Since the polar bear is the mascot shouldn't it be around more on the site and the forums. I can safely assume half of the members have never heard of the polar bear mascot.

I found out when they started advertising their shirts.

Haven't you (the staff) thought of a good name for him (or her if she's a she) yet?

 

you know we really should advertise the mascot.

Personally, I think a polar bear is a "cool" mascot (hahaha! did you see what I did thar!?)
and we should give him a funny name and cartoon version like the "pedobear"

But all kidding aside, I would like to propose a project that I've thought about a few times

Let's hold a contest where people could come up with a new logo for RomU where the bear is incorporated in the design.
It would give the site a fresh new look and gives the members a chance to show off their graphics talent.
And we could give the winner points as a reward or a free -insert number here- month premium membership or whatever.

So, what do you think? this worked for the T-shirts, do you think this will catch on?

 

To be honest, I think of the polar bear more as an inside joke than a mascot, and I believe that it shouldn't be developed any further than where it is now.

 

Actually, somebody did a very cute looking one over at the graphics discussion section sometime ago. Unfortunately it's been buried somewhere there & using the "search" bar to locate it isn't helping
