change the start and bottom bar on my laptop? I am using windows xp. I used an xp skin and it said and showed that bar and start is changed, but when i used it it didn't change.

Control Panel > Display > Appearance.

 

Tried that it just lets me change colour.
I mean something different, not the same shape/style.

Yep that problem. So I say to the topic user: Don't take risks and don't go installing stuff into the Windows folder you don't know anything about.
