i have my broadband connection already setup but whenever i switch on my modem i get the internet connection.
see no need to click on the network and then connect .

what can i do to change this so that i have to click on the networks option and then click connect .

why would you want to have to manually dial out every time?

I presume he doesn't want his computer to connect to the internet all the time.
Possibly he doesn't have unlimited and is worried about going over.

instead of hardware's i would like to do this by making to different connection by (set up new connection or network) in the control panel and then use the connection which i require.

but the problem is how do i get my present router to stop connecting to the internet when i switch it ON.
can i do that by changing any of these option or removing the username and password shown below :

might work if you set it to bridging and then set up a ppp connection in windows. Bear in mind that if you do that, only one device will have internet access, and its the one that initiates the connection.
