ever since sony mentions that they will remove certain parts of the ps3 to sell them cheaper for european consumers, it was great due to the low price. but the removal of those components also removed compatability of the ps2 games being able to play on a ps3.

when consumers knew about the action, do europeans still buy the ps3 even though it is only a ps3 that doesn't have a ps2 gaming capability?

Low price? They didn't reduce the price! They increase it compared to the price in the US and Japan due to "extra marketing costs" in Europe...

If they've removed even more functions then wtf is left?

The price didn't increase in Canada. We pay the equivalent of the console's US$ price in Canadian dollars. My friend picked up one at EB in Gander, NL a while ago.
