I was so surprised to find that there is no similar thread on this forum... Does that mean that nobody who goes on this site plays either? If anyone does play LoL or HoN I'd be interested in their opinions. I'll just start by saying I'm an avid HoN player. The good points: - Nice Graphics, effects and textures - Excellent Ranking and Matchmaking systems - Semi Professional voice acting - Now Free to Play - Classic DotA characters + new innovative heroes and items which contribute to the sense that HoN is it's own game The bad points: - Community full of trolls, ragers, and people who just don't get the concept of teamwork and roles - S2 have previously had MANY problems with servers going down/being slow, even to the point of being hacked and taken down for days at a time, leading to many public apologies on the HoN website, forums and in game. - If you've played DotA, you've played HoN, you won't be getting game play innovations, you'll be getting a ramp up in difficulty Now, I haven't actually played LoL so I can't make an accurate judgement of what it's like, from what I've seen of it's graphics... they're not great... But many people like the casual game play and incorporated RPG elements which DO contribute to innovative game play. I feel comfortable with HoN for the time being, because it's a challenge that I didn't get in my years of DotA, it's constantly updated with nifty content including new announcers, alternate skins and ways to taunt your opponent. I can see why people have been getting into huge flame wars about the games though... When I hear someone say "HoN is shit", my blood boils a bit, and as much as I want to give them a few paragraphs about why they're wrong, I restrain myself. LoL is the big thing right now on #romulation in the IRC. I can't comment on it personally, since I'm one of few that doesn't play it or any games like it.
If the games allow raid and pvp gear to be interchangeable or simply just have one set of gear for both, then I'll consider signing up. WoW pissed me off a bit when they did +resillience gear, because it was essentially watered down raid gear, and you'd be towards the bottom on dps output, but you could use raid gear in pvp and still do fine.
League of Legends is a watered down version of Dota, its focus is on your hero becoming a walking god which can slay all that comes in its path. It's incredibly easy to learn (unless you're Dino, then you're just a walking reject that brings your whole team down to the point where you go insane) so it's probably the main reason why its so much more popular than HoN. Really, its just Easy Mode Dota. Give it a try. Once you get used to it you will seriously steam roll bitches. No to all of this, this isnt what Dota/HoN/LoL is
Only played LoL before. Started playing when Cassiopea came out. Quit when Renekton came out. WoW replaced it.
HoN is a DOTA clone with better user interface. LoL is the same genre as DOTA mixxed with WoW talent system and Runes. Different heros, item and other stuff. I played them both and I preffer LoL since im Tired Of DOTA and HoN because There Almost the same game. LoL is a Breath of fresh air for me.
Yea i agree~ Garena League Of Legends especially fails much, large amount of ppl refuse to communicate and talk and instant lock is worst i cant stand the players who rage and feed enemy which i experience once
