Homebrew on PS3?

I was over @ Filetrip and came across some files that claim it will allow me to play homebrew games on my PS3. Also, saw some SNES emulator as well. I didnt see anything stating that my PS3 had to be modded for this. So, does anyone know if I just download and then install (which I think I read on the Filetrip site for allowing homebrew to run on PS3) ?

    Thanks.

You'll have to mod it. You can either install CFW onto it, or you can use a USB Dongle to jailbreak your PS3. I personally don't think it's worth it, but it's a neat area to get into. - http://www.ps3-hacks.com/

The CFW is rather dangerous to use and I wouldn't risk it unless you KNOW what the hell you're doing with it. It rewrites your entire PS3 firmware and it can brick your PS3. The Jailbreak is safer, but you'll get banned from PSN in both cases.

No problem. I didn't really think of that before I bought an E3 reader for my friend. I should tell him that as well. :p I didn't send it to him yet though, so good thing I didn't. It's an interesting subject to go on though. :)

I'll update the tutorial with the kmeaw 3.55 CFW method when I have time.
