The x360 has a pro and that is that its games are dirt cheap. (cuz bluerays are damn harder to make than HDDVDs)
however i don't like it cuz it cant go online wirelessly. And the Kinect! Way too expensive...

Then theres the PS3.... Awesome piece of machinery but expensive games. BUT! Built in wi-fi!
    And awesome games!!!

Apparently I'm saving up money to get one or the other so i need your opinion...

Xbox 360 used dual layered DVDs in which i believe can up to approximatively 8gb while blu-ray uses 25GB on one layer and dual layer uses 50GB i say rather the ps3 because as ps3 progresses into its lifespan the PS3 has ability to get more exclusive games than the 360 and online is free....its not bad but it's good.

XBOX360 Has the Red Ring of Death!

Convinced that it's better now? ;)

    thats bullshit.
and the new x360 wont have the three red rings...

only because they removed the red LEDs. That doesn't mean it can't still fuck up.

yeah but when the thing overheats it shuts the fuck up.
thats why i think a ps3 is better... it doesnt screw up as bad.

besides the ps3 is future proof as it has hdmi 1.3 in which allows more bandwidth to be transfered in which will get you a better picture than the 360 as the 360 is a not a true HD console it just upscales the picture :D on the other hand the ps3 is the only console in the market which allows 1080p to be native not upscaled :D

    Natewlie A bag of tricks

But there's only a couple games on both consoles that actually have native 1080p.

WTF? The games for 360 and PS3 cost the same. Only difference in games is that the PS3's are on Blu rays, which kick major ass. And, the new 360 model has WiFi. And, even if Kinect was cheap, its not worth it. They, so far, have nothing but what appears to be Wii games. Hopefully they'll remedy that, but I doubt it. PS3 is much more reliable as well. If only it had Fable, and it would be perfect.....

I'd say 360. Larger library of games, better online, the new slim one has built in wifi.
And yeah, 360 has RRoD, but it doesn't mean it's gonna happen to everybody. My friend has had his 360 since day 1, and has never had a problem with it.

PS3 is pretty cool too, but if you want to talk online you need a shitty overpriced wireless headset, the online sucks in comparison (It plays online OK good, but the PSN Store rarely updates with new content, and gets nowhere near the content 360 gets in the marketplace), but PS3 has some sweet ass games like MAG, Killzone 2, and MGS4.
If you do decide to get a mic for PS3, a lot of the online players (I'd even say a vast majority) are biased, elitist bro gamers.

Really, either one is good, they both have there flaws.

I believe any USB headset will work with PS3.

also, god of war 3 is incredible (got it on loan from an old schoolfriend) its not for the faint hearted though, easily one of the most brutal and wantonly violent games I've ever played.

Also in terms of futureproofing, PS3 will be around a lot longer than x360, which is already reaching the limits of its capabilities.

    Both.

but 360 (non slim)can be flashed play burnt games so that that's a big plus in my book so I am not buying/renting suck ass games.

I love that game and after I completed it, I went though a phase of everything else sucked compared to the awesomeness of GoW III, but I finally got over it.

The only real reason to get a 360 now is because it's still slightly cheaper... though the price margin between the two consoles has decreased dramatically over the past few years. Or if your going to get a second-hand one to flash.

The 360 does have it's fair share of exclusives, though most can probably be found on PC as well.

I agree with LoonyLion that the PS3 probably does have much higher capabilities than the 360, so you probably should get one.

A negative of the PS3 is that sometimes multiplatform games will be better on 360 than PS3. For example I've heard The Orange Box (Along with a few other games) on PS3 have shit frame rate, and that the 360 version is better.

To be fair though, wasn't the 360 out like a year earlier than the PS3?

In terms of gameplay, the games common to both consoles are pretty much identical.

I have both a PS3 and a 360. I play my PS3 more often, but only because I play MW2 a lot and all my friends have it on the PS3.
My 360 game library is much larger. I enjoy RPGs, and the 360 dominated the RPG market early on (and even now, honestly).

    Pros for the 360:
Microsoft has enough money to bribe many game developers into giving the 360 games and DLC earlier (sometimes much earlier) than Sony.
Xbox Live, though it costs 50 dollars for 13 months of service, is a much better service than Playstion Network. Faster and easier/more comfortable to navigate and use.
    More RPG titles.

    Cons
Relatively high failure rate (but my Elite model is almost 3 years old and hasn't had any issues).
Online play costs money (but you get what you pay for).
Online gameplay for games like MW2 seem to have more hackers and modders than the PS3 (probably because the 360 can be modded).

I think the RPG push on the 360 this generation was Microsoft's attempt to boost sales of the 360 in Japan.
