Hmm I just read a news post that said about adding ip trackers to file hosts

    Anyways it says partways through that government is going to or is starting to add trackers into file hosting sites to catch illegal downloaders.. is this true and if so what do we do now?

    Yeah, I don't think these guys understand how technology works.

    Anyway, most file-hosting sites would be outside of your government's jurisdiction so it's not really an issue. The bigger problem is the USA's SOPA. If it passes, you can expect the rest of the first world to follow suit and implement their own filtering schemes.

    yeah but From what i gather in this newspost they intend to do the tracking legally or illegally regardless

    if they don't control the servers there is no way they can do it. it isn't technically possible except at either ISP level (i,e your ISP tells the secret police that you visited xyz website) or logging at the website level, which requires them to have access to the servers, which they will not have.
