I got into Blood Money a while ago and I loved it...
When I heared that there was going to be a new game, Absolution I decided to try the first 3 games.
Codename 47 was hard, but I got through, Silent Assasin was nice though. Hadn't tried Contracts yet.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that is dissapointed that David Bateson MIGHT NOT appear in Absolution.
They must be getting a voice cast from LA, or so I heared the rumor. That sucks because 47 was modeled after Bateson...

I'm seething with righteous fury that they're making the game more "modern" or whatever the buzzwords are. Regenerating health, cover-based gunplay, all that bullshit. How about making a nicer-looking Blood Money with different missions and more ways to assassinate your target?

I don't mind Regenerative health, 47 is a clone, he should be able to do that, right?

What if the new game is really good and what we are not expecting? I hope it is. I hope David Bateson is on the cast too.

The idea for the entire series to date is that you picked your engagements rather than running and gunning. Once you used your painkillers and your adrenaline that was it. Regenerating health promotes a more gung-ho style of play - which is fine in moderation for a game that gives you options in how you assassinate, but as a design choice it opens up the distinct possibility for artificial difficulty since you will always be at full health unless you rush through like an idiot. What does this mean for the gameplay? Since you'll always be at full health, it becomes more tempting to throw a lot more at you than you'd normally be able to handle on a finite health system.

And hell, they took a fairly realistic appraoch to clones in Hitman (with some small liberties taken). Clones aren't supersoldiers, they're just people, albeit with spliced DNA for better traits like endurance. How does that segue into being able to heal gunshot wounds in a matter of seconds?

Personally I just don't see why they're taking common aspects of modern action games and putting them in a stealth game that's been refined perfectly well over four existing games.

ahh good times, didnt like 1 so much and number 4 was amezing.
i think number 3 contracts would be as good as number 4.

I agree... it is a stealth game, but the idea isn't to kill unseen it's to kill while blending in with the NPCs to assasinate your targets. I actually did that quite well in "House of Cards" I should record that...

Yeah, 1 wasn't so good... because of it's gameplay. If they remade it though... they sort of did in 3... sort of.

Things(that I feel) which would make Hitman a better game would be:
    > Getting rid of Aggression and Stealth meter to a *put appropriate name here* which would rate your game play by how you assassinate the target than how many bullets are spent..
    > Being able to start off with alternative outfits(although nothing says '47' than the suit and red tie :D )
    > More powerful guns and realistic injury system
    > Cover system would be nice, whereas regenerative health would degenerate the title's rep
    > Better AI, such as when guards start to notice changes in the in-game world...Here's an example: A guard patrols a moderately long corridor. When he's looking to the other side, you sneak past him, opens a door(without closing it, all doors don't close automatically you know..) and hide in the room hoping to get past him when he travels to the other side. But an intelligent AI should be able to understand the change that has happened..The door that was closed is now open and the guard should check whats going on in that room. Not only will this make the game more difficult but also interesting.
    > Customizing of guns should be retained.
    > Better weather effects like getting (very)impaired vision in snowstorms or heavy rain which should be fixed using goggles(night-vision or otherwise)
    > Sprinting would be nice :D
    > And most importantly: KEEP DAVID BATESON

    Natewlie A bag of tricks

The new Hitman is exactly what they did with Splinter Cell, and about to do with Rainbow Six AGAIN.

While I can do with streamlining the experience with some games okay, like System Shock to Bioshock or BF2 to BF3. But I'm not okay streamlining the game experience so it loses what made the original game fun and memorable. The new Hitman game looks almost like a carbon copy of Conviction, and no, that is not a good thing by any stretch. Take out all the different approaches to an encounter, take out stealth and take out a lot of the elements out of any other Hitman game. I honestly don't know why they bother with alienating an existing fanbase instead of just making a new IP. Because once they change the game, they usually don't go back. Rainbow Six won't.

    Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

So, if you liked Conviction, you'll like the new Hitman.

If you don't, join the club.

I would have preferred an HD collection myself.
