It needs it's firmware, once you put the firmware in then you can put a game in.

no, you'll have to transfer your .sav file over to your card aswell

presuming you've been playing your roms in no$gba I think that the .sav file will be in the same directory as the rom. It should have exactly the same name expect instead of being .nds as the file extension it will be .sav

to transfer files to your SD card you'll need an SD card adapter (I'm not sure if one comes with the r4). Hook that up to your computer with the SD card loaded in it. Get the latest firmware from here and put it onto the card. Then move your DS games onto the card aswell, and if you want to keep your save file transfer the .sav file for the game you've been playing aswell as that DS game file aswell.

I am using No$gba, but im getting a acekard not r4 sames rules apply i presume. Anyway thanks! I cant wait to get my cards, stupid dealextreme taking 2 weeks...then again it was sooooo cheap.

So just to clarify, all i do is drag the .nds and the .sav to sd card and im good? no patching or merging the files?

You may have to convert your Save file to the right format for your new flashcart.

You can use this site to convert the save files:

If it doesn't work, then you probably need to convert it.

I got one more question or rather a concern, I've heard some acekard2's tend to die after a month for people on you tube and dx. is that because of people not taking care of them or is it a bad manufacturing ?

I haven't heard that. Quite a few users around here use Acekard2i's without issues.
