I know both of these cards are really low-end, but my brother seems to think the 8400gs is better than the G210. I say the opposite... The reason is, I have a pc I use just for movies, and the existing card died and I'm buying a cheap replacement until I can afford something a little better.
He says to get the 8400
    I think I should get the G210

    Geforce 210

My main point is that the 8400 is PCI, and the G210 is PCI-e. Also the G210 is cheaper

the GTX210 is massively better than an 8400GS (sure it's PCI? GS usually means AGP) Although in all honesty the GTXxxx series are disappointing for their cost, I would suggest you look at a low radeon HD 4xxx or HD 5xxx, they cost less, the performance is better and they are more power efficient. The HD5450 for example uses about 15W compared to 23W for the GTX210.

    I'm sure it's a PCI
My pci-e slot only supports 1.0 and 2.0, Dell never released a bios update for 2.1 for my model as far as I know
    would this one be good?
    Radeon HD 4670

I havent seen a PCI graphics card since the days of the voodoo.
Make sure you have the right port for the card you get, If your're replacing a low end card for watching movies any of those would work ok, go for the cheapest :p
And you can't replace a pci-e card with a pci one or vice versa, not the same port at all

if the computer has pci-e chances are it also has pci

Still you can't put a pci-e card in a pci slot and if you have pci-e it would be madness to get a pci gfx card :p

The one I'm replacing is a pci. The only reason I was using it is because I had initially bought it for a PC with only a pci port, and I figured it would work for what I needed at the time.

My current PC does have two pci-e ports (an X16 and X1) and two standard pci ports.

I went ahead and ordered the pci-e card I linked in the original post. If it doesn't suffice I will try to RMA it, and if I can't then I will save it for someone who can use it and try for something else.
