Help with Suikoden on PSX

I'm using psxfin (I know ePSXe is better, but for some odd reason the entire emulator won't run on my system) and recently downloaded Suikoden. Apparently, the game thinks otherwise and won't respond to any controls.

I also downloaded RE3: Nemesis from this site, and am using several other game disks to play. None of these have any issues with controller function.

I've tried unplugging and plugging in the controller. I've tried it with the keyboard, too. I've set both up, and neither works. I've tried opening the .ccd file, .img file, and .sub file, all with similar results. I'm wondering if it's a compatibility issue with the emulator, or the ROM itself is corrupted.

In any event, is there anything I can do (other than download ePSXe) to get the game working? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

 

you should you use the new lastest epxse which is 1.7.0... When it is configured, it'll run pretty much any game with no hassle.
