Hi everyone. I got an R4DS cartridge today and I have no idea what I am doing! I downloaded something called a Kernel and then downloaded the games I wanted and I can't get it to work. When I add stuff to the card and then put it in the DS I get a message that says: Couldn't find_DS_MENU.DAT Could someone tell me what I need to do and possibly walk me through it? I looked under tutorials and couldn't find anything that helped. Thanks in advance!
Okay, I see you're pretty new to this. You probably haven't even unzipped the kernel... Use an unRAR program. I suggest: http://www.7-zip.org/ Download the version for your computer. Once it's done installing, right click the kernel you've downloaded and go to the option "7zip" there will be an option titled "Extract here". Click that. Do the same for all the games too. I suggest reading through the tutorial section, If you cant get it to work after reading through there then post again.
I did read through it and tried a few of the suggestions and don't know what I am or am not doing wrong.
Download the latest firmware from http://www.linfoxdomain.com/ds/, if you haven't. Download the Evaluation version of Winrar http://www.rarlabs.com/, install it, right click the kernel firmware .zip file, go Extract here. Go into the English etc. folder, take everything inside there, and place it straight on your MicroSD.
