I have a standard sd card (not a micro) that i need to password protect I'm basically looking for a program that won't even let anyone view the root of the drive without the password. Preferably one that also locks the drive if the user guesses the password incorrectly too many times, though that's optional.

If anyone's wondering, I store my passwords (portable firefox), resume, and some photocopies of contracts / reciepts on it. A few of the contracts have my ss number on them (last four digits, but sometimes that's too much), so it's important that I be able to keep the drive as secure as possible.

If anyone can help, it's appreciated.

no such program exists. If you want your stuff secure either buy a secure thumb drive or dont put it on removable media.

It might just be easier to keep everything stored on the SD card in a passworded archive. Then extract and re-compress each time you use it. Winzip, Winrar, 7Zip, etc.

    Easy
    Free
    Safe

The only thing someone will see is:

    LOCKED.RAR

already in a locked / password protected rar file. I was looking for something a bit better though.

thanks loony. Now i can stop looking. I really need to store it on the card for business, so that's out. Guess i'll just have to pick up a secure drive.
