Help with Glory of Heracles

I cannot get very far with us. I have arrived at Laconia but cannot see how to rest at Gazuth's house. I've been to the temple in the North and prayed. I've been to the abandoned mine but can't do anything or get in anywhere.

I have read that this is a simple game and so thought it would be a good start. Please be kind. I have just retired and have not played games since the Level 9 games and the Hobbit on a Spectrum

 

Just go inside his house (Next to item shop)
You might have to go inside every shop too.

 

I've been into house and shop in Laconia. Perhaps I've failed to do somethingin one of them?

 

Have you seen the part where the Captain's daughter show you her flower?
Oh,and talk to all the people,sometimes you need to do that.

 

Yes I've seen the flower and I really think I have talked to everyone

 

Then you should now go to the mine and save her.
Is the Captain in your party now? (Asking this since you mention you can't go into the mines)
And did you do the fetch quest involving a book?

 

She has shown me her flower, but she is still in the house, not lost. And no, I have seen the captain since I first went in his house

 

Oh,try talking to the Captain's wife.
She should ask you to deliever a book.

 

Oh dear, she's gone too. There is only the daughter
