help with cheats

I have a r4 and cheats dont work I tried everything cheats dont come up when i put the cheat codes in so please help :'(

if you never updated your cheat database, get the updated ones from above.

R4 has a limitation that makes it so that the cheats at the bottom of the list doesn't show. use R4CCE (find at link to gbatemp post at top) to delete the games you don't want, or switch to YSMenu (also found in that link, probably won't work on a Chinese R4, like mine. so i just trim the database).

 

I do update it but r4cce does not work for me i do what gba temp tells me to and it still does not work and nariren rock (I think thats his name)

well it comes up and i do what this walkthroue tells me to on gbatemp i tried the usrcheat.dat put it in system and it does not come up

 

Connect your MicroSD to your computer. Open R4CCE. Browse and load the usrcheat.dat in _system_. Open usrcheat.dat. Or just simply download the 'stripped' database from here, and overwrite your current usrcheat.dat.

 

I did download the new usrcheat.dat but i want to put cheats on myself and what is stripped.dat thats not cheat.dat or usrcheat.dat

 

Then use R4CCE like I've written up above.

i don't think the caps make a difference; mines are all capital though, just cause it's the format it comes as

wait, have you tried using the CHEAT.DAT instead? it says the R4 should support both types somewhere, but the USRCHEAT.DAT didn't work for mine a while back. what name was the original file, if it had one?

 

yes i tried just cheat.dat but urscheat.dat isthe original i got that not stripped but i tried that too
