I downloaded the project 64 emulator for my PC, but when I try to launch a game, it either plays at 5-10% or won't play at all... I am beginning to wonder If I just can't use one at all...

    here's my specs:
    Windows XP SP2
    Intel 82810e graphics card
    700 mhz processor
    320mb ram

It should be running so-so with that specs,
my old computer without a graphic card and with 100+ ram also can play it,with 60fps and the only problem is the graphic.

...sounds a tad weak-it may explain the speed issue...

    What games your trying?

What version (please say the last made version of it...)?

The games I was trying to play were Super Mario 64, Ocarina Of Time, and Star Fox 64, all on the latest version of P64

What version number is your P64 the last one I had was 1.6 and it had some issues, but I found 1.7.0.49 on Pirate Bay and everything seems to run smoothly at 60fps especally with Ocarina Of Time, but my system specs are a bit higher too.

    Windows XP SP3
    1GB Ram
    1.60GHz processor
Not sure of the graphics card its a laptop so its integrated

I'll try looking it up, I'll check in with the results

alright, I downloaded the 1.7 version of PJ64, but it hasn't helped any. I am still getting this error message:
    Direct3d failed to initialize
    Error code: 8876086c
    D3DERR_INVALIDCALL

Have you tried messing with the plug-in settings on either version?
