I installed my ninty wifi adapter to my vista home using the latest adapter (1.06). I noticed a japanese/chinese charaters pop up on the screen. I ignored it and the installation progresses. Installation ask to insert my adpater, i did and installed the software completely. no problems yet expect for the jap/chi window.

I restarted my computer and the wifi worked perfectly.

The next day, I can't connect with DS and wii. I quit the firewall and avg but error still present. So I reinstalled again the drivers and again the unit worked.

I observed that every time the computer restarts (except during isntallation) my wifi adapter cant connect the net.

Is vista no so compatible with wifi adapter even with the latest drivers?

Well. according to nintendo's support site, vista is supported. you must have version 1.06 and above, which you do. On their website, it emphasized quite a bit on 'please uninstall previous driver before installing new driver.' so you may want to give that a try.

honestly, try checking their site first.

if all else failed, try contacting nintendo directly if no one here able to help you.

I'm not surprised in the least that you are having this problem. Wifi without an access point(router) is extremely temperamental and will stop working for no reason at all at random intervals. Your best option is to get a wifi access point (known as a wireless router in the home networking iindustry)

Honestly, wifi is so complex it's a miracle it works at all.
