that sounds like something a virus would do...but i don't think it's possible for a PSP to get a virus...

    You two aren't helping...

    It's probably just a glitch. :p
It probably deleted all of your junk on the memcard. You can try a memory recovery program, but I don't know if that would work or not. Give it a whirl.

    Do what ace suggested first.

It sounds like the memory card may have corrupted itself. If anything, at least reapplying custom firmware isn't too terribly difficult.

I don't think they need to reflash it. Just a little problem with the memcard most likely.

Memory cards do enjoy having their fair share of issues. My little 2gb MicroSD has only needed a single format at least though.

its flash memory, it wears out eventually.

by that do you mean it will eventually go back to the way it was?

and regarding the memory recovery program can you suggest any or do i just goggle it?

You may try TestDisk. I hear it's pretty good. Saved someone's data that I know.
And I think what he means is that flash memory doesn't last as long as a traditional HDD. It wears out eventually rendering the device with frequent data loss or something like that...

AHHH Ok. So I'm using TestDisk as we speak and hopefully it recovers my files.

Ok so i'm becoming super impatient and so far the files that were recovered seem to be just a lot of wav files usless pics and a single iso. So i was thinking on just refromatting the card. i mean i didnt really like any of the games that were on it, just a bunch of sports games and all and i have my own set of games and stuff. Do you think it would be ok? if so how do i go about reformatting the card and getting all those folders back iso, video, music etc....

I just rechecked my psp's memory card and there is a new folder called found and they are filled with CHK files. What do i do?
