You have to use the homebrew Moonshell to play videos converted to the DPG format. Normal video files won't work on the DS.

If you search dpg on google you can find quite a few pre-converted movies that can run in Moonshell. I've never watched movies on my DS, but from what I've heard from friends generally movies wont run perfectly.

Really? I watched an entire BLEACH episode on my DS without any problems.

Fair enough, it might've just been my friends version of Moonshell or the videos themselves. You have to remember though to test video fully you should be watching real life footage because it makes it easier to notice frameskips and sync errors.

So far the moonshell video function work for me perfectly. I mostly watch mtv(mv or pv), depending where you come from. and a few full length movie. not even a skip. but the screen is a little too small so i gave up on full length movie altogether.

yeah, you'll have to convert your movie into dpg, a nintendo mpeg format. in order for moonshell to play it.

As far as I know, which isn't that much, there are two major dpg converters. One is DPG tools which comes with Moonshell if you download it (available here) and the other is batchdpg (available here). To use DPG tools run the .exe dpgenc and the rest is straight forward. I've never used BatchDPG. Hope that helps.
