HELP!!!!.......pokemon heart gold keeps on freezing!!!

    i have xenophobia's USA version of heart gold. The game loads perfectly fine, but when i go to save or walk into a building, and even after some battles the game goes to load the new screen then just stops. the sound continues to play but the screen remains black and frozen. Is there some kind of antifreezing patch anywhere?
