Hi everyone, I found this site off my friends and I was hoping to join this awesome experience. The only problem is that I am having technical difficulties. Whenever I click the "download" button to download a game I want, this site takes me to another page and the browsers download box doesn't appear. Could someone help me please? Thanks!
Couple questions: 1. Are you using Internet Explorer? 2. Would you mind giving us a brief description of the page, like any words on it or anything? 3. Which game was it?
I have the same problem. For it happens with any DS rom. I'm using Fire Fox and after clicking the download button, the next page comes up telling me to wait and nothing happens. I decide to click the button to instantly download and I get this message. This download is only for members of RomUlation.net, membership is free and brings you one step closer to an active and engaging community. I clearly am a member and I'm signed in with cookies enabled and everything. It used to work fine until a few weeks ago when you guys upgraded the server I think. Help is appreciated.
Try using without a download manager, does it still not work? It sounds like whatever download manager you're using isn't sending a long cookies.
I'm just using plain old Fire Fox. I keep getting as ton of ad pop ups instead of a download. Before I would just get that one ad with the green brder around the window that I could close. Now I get a different site each time. I cleared cookies then re-accepted them to make sure it wasn't something on my end. I still get the same problem.
Still no luck. I've tried to download Wild West and The Settlers and I don't seem to get ads anymore, but I still can't get the download to even appear. I just get that message each time.
I really don't know what to do about it, my best guess would be that something on your end is preventing the browser from reading the cookie that is set upon login. I haven't even been able to reproduce the error, the closest I got was not being able to log in at all, but obviously you can login to the site/forum, it's the exact same code that's being used so it's really weird.
Yup, it works only under IE now. I guess FireFox doesn't work with this site anymore as far as downloads are concerned.
It's definitely something to do with the cookies then. One thing you can do is get a extension to view cookies like AnEC Cookie Editor, then filter out everything not by romulation.net and tell me host/path of the cookie with ID: RUID.
Ok, I found the problem. I cleared all cookies under the block/allow options in FireFox. It seems that I had a second cookie blocked on this site. I must have blocked it thinking it was another cookie from a pop-up ad since it came up right after an ad. I accepted the cookie this time and all downloads are working fine now.
Most of the cookies are either site related or from our stats generating software such as google analytics.
