Help on Castlevania portrait of ruins DS is Freezed

Hi moderator & fellow gamers

I need help on DS games: Castlevania portrait of ruins. The games is freezed in the middle.

I used R4Ds with latest firmwire 1.18 and 2 Gb Sandisk

Backup all your data and reformat your MicroSD.

 

Hate to go over you on this one, Anandjones, but the R4 is still incompatible with Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, and will continue to freeze. There's no Arm7 fix, no IPS patches, no firmware updates, or anything that will prevent the freezing.

Sorry, Speedo, but you're left with three options:
1. Buy the cartridge. It's relatively cheap now at whatever game stores that may still have it.
2. Buy a different flash cart. I can't really tell you which cart will play it, so you might want to refer to PocketHeaven's wiki.
3. Play it on No$GBA. Probably not an answer you want, but if you really want to play it, you can give that a shot.

Sorry if I came off rude, but this issue has been known about with the R4. The other Castlevania should play just fine, however.

 

http://wiki.scorpei.com/index.php/R4_compatibility_list(by the way this list is somewhere on the forum forgotten which topic it belongs to lol)A lot of the Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin problems can be fixed automatically for many of the Micro SD cards by formatting the Micro SD cards with FAT 16 with 32K Clusters. If it still traps, there are several ROM dumps of the game. One of them does not work even with the 32K cluster fix. You will need to get a different ROM dump of the game. You may need to restart the game and create a new save with the new ROM dump to make it run. Many of these cards should not have problems after formatting with Fat 16 with 32K clusters. (just so you know i am using EDGE card i da this issue too but after updating firmware and reformatting the problem is gone but accesing option in the game still seems a bit laggy but that is all^_^

 

Well there's no pain in trying. Cyclo would be able to play it. If I remember correctly, a few people have been able to play this game on R4.
