HELP ME PLEASE!!!

I've got an R4, I know that you have to press extract here with WINRAR which I do and it works but then when I turn on my DS I pres on the game I have just downloaded and it says unknown! What am I doing wrong and how do I solve this problem, please help me someone ??? ??? ??? ???

 

Are you sure its a .nds file?

 

When I open up the file on my computer it says its a winRAR archive, please help me!

I am having the same problem as you, the r4 is not recognizing the games that I have downloaded and it is coming up as PAR file.

Could someone tell me in plain english, how to correct this problem.

Please remember I am not technically minded either.

If all it has is just the .nds file, then it won't work, your card also needs to download the latest firmware, it's like the brain for the card...

 

I turned my DS on and it wasen't there even though it was there in the files on my computer, but I think I know why, would it be because there was only a NDS file not a SAVE file as well?

 

...like I said, you also need to DOWNLOAD firmware onto that card, the .nds file ain't gonna help if there is nothing there to READ it.


Read the label of the R4-what kind of R4 is it?

You have yet to mention you have firmware on your card, and thus I presume you lack it, and like me, your new at this-I had the same problem...

 

I'm not that new its just a really good site has just closed down which I always used and it always worked. Anyway the R4 card says: R4, then under that, Revolution for DS, then under that, (ndsl/nds) and what is firmware?

 

firmware is the "brain" of the card...

You need the one with the NEW banner next to it-extract that into the card-keep the .ds file where it is, see how you go...


Provided it's not a fake r4 type (hard to spot ) then it SHOULD work, if not, then you should wait for a mod to help...

Yes you do, all hose files will get the r4 thinking like a ds cart..


Once you do you should be able to play it-just look for the icon-file name of the game...


What is the game may I ask-just incase-newer games may need patching...something I can't help with as my card doesn't need that...

 

You know when you download a game it comes up with 3 files, the NDS on, the SYSTEM one and th file one do you only download the nds one?

I have no control over it...if you got a slow net speed and your downloading a big file...well you had a taste of how I'm feeling my net is the slowest of all here
