I was able to download Archie comics and convert them to epub format to read on my Sony ereader. Unfortunately, it's in black and white. Is there a way to convert them to a format that a PSP and / or NDS can read in colour? These files are in .cbr format.

PSP and NDS can support JPEG files, which support color.

i'm imagining that your psp is able to play homebrew.. if so then http://www.psp-homebrew.eu/hbname.php?id=1280 might work for you.. i use it for reading .CBR files and they're in color and you can bookmark them for suspended viewing.

OK, I installed the comicbook reader on my PSP. Program launches. Then I created a folder called "COMICS" in root directory. Copied one cbr file to see if it works. Tells me "The game could not be started. (8002014C)"

Do you have Custom Firmware on your PSP? If so, what firmware?

It hasn't been updated to work on 5.50 GEN/Prometheus.
So, you're out of luck there.

I have a spare PSP 1000 sitting around. Could I lower the firmware to 1.5 and then read cbr files?

Or Plan B, how can I read cbr files on NDS?

    You could do that.

I have no idea about the NDS idea. :p

The spare PSP is now 1.5 and can read comics. Kind of silly to have a dedicated machine just to read comics. Thanks everyone for your help.

Still would like to know how to read comics on NDS.
