My son has the r4 with wood firmware on it and would like to be able to play songs...I have an R4 card with normal standard firmware and was able to copy and listen to songs.. Also my mother in-law would like to get some ebooks to read on her ds as she is going away..She also has the standard firmware... If someone could let me know how to do these things that would be great.
    Thank you for your help.

    Try adding this:

Moonshell 2.1. Stable version (DPG included): http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/dl.php/moonshell210stable.exe

    or

    Moonshell 2.1 Stable_Child Update (DPG Included): http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/dl.php/moonshell210stable_childupdate.zip

    Alternative (If the above you feel takes up too much space);

    Moonshell v.1.71 + DPG Tools : http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/dl.php/moonshell171p1_with_dpgtools131.zip

    Below is the official site:

The official download page : http://home.att.ne.jp/blue/moonlight/ (The Site Is In Japanese)
    The tutorial/setup/guide book : http://home.att.ne.jp/blue/moonlight/HTML/Readme_ENG.html

Movie (DPG format) and MP3, use Moonshell

I've just added in the above for ebook reader (even though Moonshell can do the same function)

You'll need to consult their guidebook/readme files for troubleshooting if there is problem. Or write the issue here. But I can't assist for troubleshooting the above. Its not my area of expertise. Maybe someone else will come around and assist. Sorry.

The link to free e-books are in the above too. Its in the jonsayer.com link I've posted above. Look it up in there for the links. Basically you need to make sure the ebook file you download are compatible extension with the e-reader or moonshell.

Convert your video file format to .DPG, and run it the same way using moonshell.

Try using any of these convertor for common video/movie file to .dpg format that suit you best:
    1. http://www.prlog.org/10221875-how-to-play-video-on-nintendo-ds-with-dpg-converter.html
    2. http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
    3. http://www.xilisoft.com/dpg-converter.html
    4. http://filetrip.net/g25122833-Dpg-Encoder.html

Be aware that there might be a size limitation for it to run optimally on the moonshell.

Here's the manual to convert DVD to .dpg file for moonshell v.1.71, method is the same for v.2.10 : http://www.ds-xtra.com/MoonShell
