Help, I can't save..(vba)

    Help I'm playing Pokemon Fire Red and it won't let me save. It says , "save error, please exchange your backup memory" . So I'm using Shift + F1 to save and F1 to load, but I want to save properly.. Can someone pls tell me what is wrong and how I can fix this..? I tried different Roms and different versions of vba(1.8 & 1.7x), but the results are the same.. :'(

    under options you should be able to change the save type to Flash 128k. That will fix your problem.

    Thanks, but..Now I can't seem to load..When I start, it says "The 1M sub-circuit board is not installed." and then it starts from the beginning, not loading my game. This is quite frustrating.. :-[

    sounds like that game has extra hardware inside the cart that isnt being emulated

    You have to start over, you can't load the old save game because you saved it using the wrong save type, so the data got corrupted.
