J/K about the subject, thought that it would cause a laugh, it is in reference to a Weird Al song. (Don't hate a playa for listening to Weird Al) But seriously, trying to use flashget to download now that I've got premium and whenever I right click a link and copy it to use in flashget I just get a "index.html" on the download manager that never initializes. EDIT Okay, so maybe I should have tried for a bit before posting this, but I'll add the result/answer for others. If you're trying to use a 3rd party download manager that never fails a download and you're in google chrome. Start the download with chrome, cancel it, and then go to all downloads. Right click on the link below the cancelled download and use that in your download manager and it will begin to download the rom correctly. For me, I kept getting a "index.html" if I just right clicked the download link and clicked copy link for use in my download manager. ALSO It might have helped if I weren't completely f***ing drunk right now lol.
try the installing flashgot firefox plugin and configure it to flashget then right click on the link and select flashgot link. unfortunately its only avalable for firefox
My post said that I have Chrome, I don't like firefox anymore. (We had a falling-out after a three year relationship about four years ago). EDIT: Here is what you get when you copy the download link on the ROM page: https://www.romulation.org/downloads/get/19030/Mzc0MTA1<censored>ODQ5Mg/ Here is what flashget needed to actually start the download: http://us2.romulation.net/files/download/e5PYo_2lWzxRRd__UCCaz5aqlZ<censored>kSEVFs5OqHbYon/ I'm assuming that the first one is an initiator link that takes the browser to a redirect to the second link which is generated with a special permission based on the user's points/premium status. However, the issue is, that flashget cannot get the right re-directed link because it doesn't have my credentials to present to the index.html to get the correct redirect for the actual rom download. (or something to that effect). Tried that last night, tried that just now. It doesn't work, flashget just says that it is downloading a "index.html" with 0 bytes of data. I wish there was a flashget plugin for chrome. EDIT 2: I think it probably won't be fixed because of the redundancies in security that limit access to downloads. (If the link on the ROM page could be used by flashget then sharing links for free downloads would work. But then again, wouldn't that mean that the second link I provided (which was already censored) could be used by anyone to download the game within the next 72 hours before it expires?
He said, But he was just having some trouble downloading with his download manager. Either the plug-in is outdated or the link is just bad.
A black chick told me that once... Anyways, I was wondering if the download feature has anything to deal with the browser itself. Because I download every so often without any problems, I notice my pc's resources go up in terms of memory. That said the options under the browser can't do anything to limit the amount of resources used up with the physical memory. And comparing both Chrome and Firefox, Firefox uses less memory. I have tried both and it works fine. But Chrome eats up more, I'd use it rarely.
