Im not sure if ive posted in the right forum so if I havent I must first apologise. Does anyone know if there is a program which will enable my dyslexic son to play games which have lots of writing on them. He can not read anything really so he is limited to what he plays unfortunatly. We have a DS with an R4 card and it would really help him if anyone knows of a program which can be put onto his R4 card which would speak the writing on the games for him.... 8) Your help is much appreciated
I'm so sorry, but there is no homebrew that exists like that. I also doubt that the DS can even do that. Maybe you can persuade someone to figure it out, but not many people are up to the task.
I believe that many games store text as actual images rather than some sort of ASCII code that is output to the screen of the DS, from what I've seen of the parts of translation projects people have posted. This would make it difficult for any program to read game text. Unlike a windows program where you can highlight text and the program can read it for your, because the text is already in a format that the computer understands.
