I am crap and have managed to download a ds game to my macbook. How do I change the file into one that can be put onto the memory card thing so that I can actually play it.
I hope your card is configured first of all (as in it already has firmware). Now, to be honest IO have no clue if mac needs a different program to extract the file, but for pc we use -winrar -7zip Download ethier and give it a go.
Well i managed to get games onto the card couple years ago but with the assistance of my flatmate who can do things like that. It's the same macbook, same card but sadly not same flatmate... I downloaded the rar thing but don't know what to do nxt. Yes, I really am this stupid. (When it comes to computers that is)...
yes. when it finished downloading i clicked on it and it installed and now when i click on it there are other icons. sorry, this must be annoying how totally hopeless I am.
Thanks for your help, but reading all the obnoxious comments from snotty computer geeks in other threads has put me in a rage. "probably a waste of time seeing as no-one reads the one we already had. Much easier just to make a whiny post and hope someone spoon-feeds them." I think some people don't understand that not everyone knows about computers and games and stuff. I'll get one of my mates to help me later. Thanks for trying though!
Have you tried this? I didn't even read the tutorial. He said that because he is correct-no one sadly reads this, I never had, and many other user's here replied on people like me to shine the light. -Download one of the 2 I mentioned and install -Use the "extract" option or just pull out the file you need -Play
The files are .rar files which is like a zip file... which means you have to unzip it using one of those programs... once you install an unzip program that works with Mac just right click the DS game and there should be a new option to Extract files... could be under the name of program u downloaded... it's not hard really, don't get frustrated... I found this program for Macs, may work easier http://www.unrarx.com/ on top click the big circle icon to download it, it's free. After install go to your DS file the .rar one and right click(edit don't right click, see edit) it you should have an option to extract or maybe an unrar option, let me know. once extracted that's the file you put on your card the .nds one It's easy dont get discouraged Edit Just open Unrar and drag and drop your file into it to extract ignore the right click thing, Loonylion just notified me that you cant do that on a Mac, sorry... still easy enough
Macs can't right click (mouse only has one button). option + click I think is the nearest equivalent to a right click (not sure, havent used a mac since OS 7)
drag and drop it into unrar then... just open unrar after install and drag and drop the zipped .rar ds game file you downloaded into unrar and then extract... (sorry I didn't know you cant right click in a mac... thats retarded... btw) I've installed UnRarX, now how do I extract files from the RAR Archive? The easiest way to begin extracting your rar archive is to launch the UnRarX application and drag your rar archive into the main window. Post Merge: [time]1262618089[/time] Thanks.. I had no idea.. I looked it up and apparently you can Right Click only its not a right click... it's a ctrl click which brings up a menu... I gave him alternate instructions though with no mouse clicking though, here's article i found on Mac's and right clicking or lack of it and how you have to ctrl click http://www.macinstruct.com/node/66
To use 7zip, you need something called Cider. @hYpNoS: Windows programs will not run on a mac without Cider, it emulates how Windows uses .exe programs, similar to Wine on a Linux OS.
