Torrents defeat the purpose... Most users here prefer direct downloads-they are safe and preety much idiot proof XD Sure-I'd prefer if my gamecube downloads were split and flash get (download manager) didn't screw up but that's just me XD
What-split you in half? Look at my avatar...imagine how painful this would be... BTW-there are sites that have them split...
Split files take up more space than single files. Also its not just the size, wii isos carry a lot of risk.
I mean the Star Ocean iso.... T_T I hope somebody can split it and then upload it to Mediafire.. yeah, that's a big chainsaw, I assume you're the one who holding it? XD @loony : can't it be compressed?
It would be, but there is extra overhead involved in a split archive that isnt present in a single file archive. Additionally, as I explained in another thread, space is lost by the filesizes not being exact multiples of the sector size of the file system.
Yeah, like an entire few kilobytes! The reason they're not split is because it would not fit into the listing system, the tiny bit of extra disk space it would require is a non-issue. They are compressed...
So it's just hard to list split files? I thought so-I done a few experiments-it is just a few KB difference between split and combined files.
It's not hard, it's just not how the system was written and I'm not going to change that because it would be a lot of work. If I keep rewriting things that already work then I'll never get anything done.
That and like emulators something might go wrong creating chaos I guess. Something might go wrong during the change over...after all-your only human sir
