Heart Gold (U) Black Screen

I've recently started playing Pokémon Heart Gold on my R4DS. I'm running the latest version of Wood R4 on it.

I'll usually be able to play for anything between 5-10 minutes before I get a black screen during the transitions (ex: battles, entering building, etc.)
I've tried the xDelta GUI Patch and the Universal Child's Play Patch. I've used each of those on separate clean ROMs, yet I'm still getting a black screen during transitions. I've looked around for pre-patched ROMs as well, yet I still get that same black screen.

1st Step:
Get a Clean Rom (meaning unpatched)

2nd Step:
Turn off cheats and soft reset

3rd Step:
Run Your Game

What exactly do you mean by soft reset?

 

You have R4 original are clone ?

If R4 original, YSMenu maybe your best bet for the clean roms only, They has been a resent new update in the DATs for DSTT/YSMenu R4

 

I'm sure I've got an R4 Original, I could be wrong though. Well what I'm looking for is sort of a patch or something along the lines of that, that will help me get rid of the black screen.

Ok, Backup - Clean MicroSD chip

Extract content of RAR to MicroSD Chip , Place games and saves into NDS Games folder

Use the 100% clean ROM - Are if not clean would have errcode=-4

Run 1. YSMenu.nds in nds games folder - Then load the game on YSMenu

i dunno much about it but soft reset and cheats may cause black or white screen for games, well thats what i read
it causes distractions

Yes but not to many at a time, Also updated in the upload usrcheat.dat to the latest.

YSMenu 100% freeze-fix was posted here, I nether did have any issues with the new AP fix

The only issue, I only did the one for PM/SS

This fixed the white screen on no$gba and freezeing issue fully.

 

So what is all the code on the thread you just posted? Not sure what to do with that..

Have you run. 1. YSMenu.nds first like running a game ?

Appart from this I'm sorry, out of ideas appart from emulators like no$gba though no$zoomer are DeSmuME

Well with ysmenu you can also play upto ROMs number 5958 .

PS: You could also try and format your microSD chip .

 

I've got about 4 cheats to improve the game's speed, and a few other minor ones like, any Pokémon can learn any TM/Hm, Random Encounters, etc.

 

turn off all your cheats and reset and play the game

 

Best idea for a tester !
