Not on other sites for like music or videos. but for ROMs downloaded from Romulation. And if people have, what happens to them?
the rom police came to there house.....and said where are you getting your roms from better be from romulation 8)
I've been caught by my parents...and they asked me to download a game for them. XD My mom wanted to play Ultimate I Spy the other night for the Wii, but that's on another sight though... So I had to download that.
I wouldn't say for certain that no one has ever been "caught". With all the users and different ISPs out there, I'm sure someone, somewhere, has at least received a letter from their ISP about illegal usage.
No. I HIGHLY doubt that. ISPs do not actively monitor their traffic, what they do is react to heavy abuse such as large quantities of email, excessive bandwidth usage and complaints from copyright holders. Since RomUlation only serves direct downloads the risk of a complain is neigh zero.
As I said in other "Are using ROMs/ISOs Illegal?" threads, it also depends on your country's policies on Digital Policy. If your country is so into stopping piracy they might do stuff like monitor everybody's internet. Of course the net is only half of the problem, say they do wipe out internet based Piracy there's still the black market & stopping the black trade is even harder I think.
Why catch people individually? That's just stupid. The "logical" thing to do would be to kill that site like ESA did to romulation.net MANY MANY years ago...
if only games cost like a dollar or two.. i bet it would be an enough reason for sites like this to be inactive.. games today cost too much.. a not so cheap feature phone from nokia is equal to a wii game or a psp game.. 1 expensive feature phone(not smart phone) is equal to a wii fit.. sheesh too expensive..
