Okay so I got Harvest Moon yesterday, and I've been playing it for a while, I'm in the second month But I was wondering, how long did it take any of you to get a good farm going (to get bird houses, upgrades on tools, cows, horses, wife)? I've played Harvest Moon before on other systems but I never really got far in the game. So I was wondering, how many months/years in game time did it take you to get a really good farm?
Generally it takes a game year or so to get your farm up and running. The DS one is really painful to get a spouse though. You have to gift them what they like everyday, if they don't like it you can lose points. If you litter all your FP/LP reset too, except for maybe the Witch Princess. Fall is the best month for crops and money, so then you can focus on your upgrades and barns etc. ALSO: Be careful of the storms and typhoons. They can sometimes destroy your buildings, the first time I played HM-cute I lost an entire chicken coop full of chickens. T'was depressing.
Personally, it took me about a month to get my farm running, but that was because i abused the poker minigame and got like 10mil after the 8th day. getting a spouse really is annoying though and usually takes a year even if you give presents every day, what i did was just mine 99 diamonds, and use that for presents, as most of the girls like diamonds, but then again that is only if you are playing the boy version of HMDS.
This harvest moon DS? Pretty easy if you kinda cheat. What I did was as fast as I could unlock the casino, Play till I got the most expensive ring. Sold it for I think 50000 and bought a greenhouse. Then just constantly grow seeds and getting the seeds level up to 99.
This game is waaay too easy. I actually bought it. Took me about a month (game time) to get my farm up & running. I only cheated once, & that was the winter harvest sprite glitch (the glitch give's you max gold). Wife took a while though, I didn't bother trying to get one for 2 months. Took me a few months to marry her.
O i hated the winter harvest sprite glitch, i activated it accidently, and when i tried to get rid of the money by buying golden lumber things, it came right back to 1bil
Ahh this happened to me too No more shall I build with lumber D: Now I just sell it, haha. I'm a little more than a year in the game, and I got a good farm going ^^ No where near marrying anyone, though.
I figured out a way around it, save before bed, then go to sleep, sleep again, check for the following day- if it's a snowstorm or typhoon, turn off and try again. So say it's monday; wake up, work, save, sleep tuesday; wake up, check weather for wednesday: if it's acceptable- continue playing, if not- reset game to last save and try again. =] It works, but it's a pain, winter is the worst for bad weather so just do it then. =]
