    This particular one is the US holiday celebrating when the pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock. It's a time to spend with family and friends and be thankful for what you have (and eat a ton).

    Canadian Thanksgiving is different though, and was started by the safe return of an explorer who was searching for the Northwest Passage, and a harvest festival.
