Hmm you are running Windows XP Professional with ONLY 128 Megabytes of Ram on a Pentium III?

    The possibilities
-Not enough ram to run the emulators
-Windows Operating System is not Genuine
    -Hard Disk Failure

it could be bad drivers, it could be anything really. Indeed it could also be your lack of RAM, XP ought to have 256 mb at least.

Valarion is right, Windows XP and the new generation OS Version require more memory unlike the older OS(Operating Systems) such as Windows 98 and windows ME to 2000 they dont really use your memory they use something more like resources, which devides your memory and your velocity, but then the OS was never perfect because it always crashed on you but windows xp doesnt use resources it only uses your memory.....in order to run windows xp correctly and smoothly youd have to have at least 512 or more memory in your computer, plus a faster processor like around 1.0ghz or higher....to make it run better with out slowdowns and crashes......althought I never did like pentium it always seem to make things slower for you and didnt give enought speed to make things possible. ;D ;D

Thats why I use AMd Anthlon more reliable Alien is the first generation to use Asu Hardware which is by far the best processing system they use way advance and really fast...super cool to ;D ;D

PS thats prob why its hanging because your emulator is trying to use memroy which it doesnt have so its taking your hardwares memory thats why it hangs......

XP can run fine with less than 512 MB RAM and 1GHz CPU.

The laptop I use uses XP and has a 1 GHz CPU with 350 (roughly) MB RAM

but see a laptop is way diferent between a desktop pc and a laptop pc laptops dont really require enought speed to run or ram tu run xp in them which ofcourse laptops have their own OS built in.........different from the OS from Desktop PC's plus the fact that you will be able to run xp on any hardware it just the performance it will give you.....more speed and more memory will allow you to run things much better and more smoothly without lag or delays

i dont really much know bout emulating so Im just guessing , but if you ask me bout anything of computers ill let you know anything ;D ;D WII

The OS isn't built into the laptop, I can change it if I'd like. :)
I know that the hardware sets the performance, but there is a lower boundry of what's required, and I just pointed out that it's not 512 MB RAM. :)

But indeed, the RAM could make the computer freeze, the slow graphics card could make emulation anything tough.

    Very likely.

    Not an issue

Definitely NOT. Hard disk failures result in the computer not booting. Trust me, I've been there several times :(

    other issues I would suggest

    -crap graphics card
    -bad drivers
    -bad plugins
    -fragmented hard disk.
