hey there people, i've got a situation here... the problem is this: i have an original psp, a 2gb memory stick and i want to have some more games without paying a lot for them... new great solution: hacking it... as i have heard, hacking a psp is easy: i just need to have a big ms... i downloaded a torrent from a site named... errr, never mind... the game is tony hawk's project 8... the point is i downloaded and instead of a .zip or a .rar file, the file that appeared was a folder... i don't know if this is weird or if it's not, cuz this is the very first psp game i ever downloaded... after this strange moment, i inserted my ms in my pc and sent the into it... after 20 mins or so, it finished... i removed my ms, put it in the psp and accessed it... the data file was corrupted... i would like to know if there is any way to get my game moving... please help me... thanks in advance...

Are you working with a downgradeable firmware? I have a psp with firmware 3.01 so I had to downgrade it to 1.50 then I added a custom firmware to be able to play the newest games out. You might want to check if you have the correct firmware that plays homebrews. Also, the games I downloaded had to be extracted and they are zip or rar files. Also, make sure you have the whole game sometimes games have 2 or 3 parts and without those parts you won't be able to play. I hope this answered your question.

The point is that you shouldn't have the latest firmware, you need a custom hacked firmware which can only be installed if you have an older version of the PSP firmware.

Well here's a guide on how to upgrade it, it doesn't tell you how to downgrade though, so if that's required then I dunno. :)

If you do a google search or a yahoo search on psp hacks or whatever. You'll find a ton of resources on how to do it. You can also search Youtube. They have tutorials and stuff.

Ok what I did was the following...

I had PSP version 2.81 I then downgraded it using the GTA game. It somehow got messed up because a few months later it stopped working. So I then upgraded so I can use the Lumines game to downgrade to 1.50 then I installed a custom firmware. But you you look up on the internet psp hacks or psp downgrader. You'll be able to find your answer. I don't remember my exact steps and I don't want to confuse you.

But depending on your firmware you may need GTA:Vice city stories or Lumines. So keep that in mind. Its good you have a 2 gb card tho. I can fit about 4-5 full version psp games plus some psx games.
