Since i got no idea on how your ps2 is...

    1.Is the system modded?

    2.What program did you use?

    3.What burning speed?

4.WHat was the size of the iso (may help if the size is BIG)

    1. yes my ps2 is modded (ps2 fat)

    2. I used Alchohol 120%

    3. at 4x burning speed

    4. it is probably around 4.2 GB and the disc is 4.7 GB

    That does sound odd...

All I can suggest is these 3.

1.Start the ps2 up, wait until the menu shows THEN insert the disc

2.If that fails try burning it again on x1 speed, then another on x4, making sure you check the burn log to see if anything is in error

3.Your ps2's laser is stuffed and is having some trouble (applies if other burnt games aren't working)

    Do try the dvd+.

Normally I buy my blanks in bulk...

    I have 50 blank dvd+ left from 100 XD

While people advised dvd-, I use + and do fine, if the dvd+ fails then I wouldn't know what to do...but I always assume a bad burn, if 3 disc fail on same format regardless of settings I assume it's the game or console at fault.
