Guide to jEnesisDS on R4...?

Hey there, would anybody care to give me a guide on how to get the jEnesisDS Emulator working on my R4 (with Sonic of some sort if possible ;D)?

 

Put jENesisDS.nds onto the root of your microSD chip

Place your megadrive roms in jEnesisDS Games folder

Run jENesisDS.nds like a ds game on your DS

I'm seriously considering to do this since the Classic Collection crack is having problems. Is there any real difference between the collection and putting the megadrive games on anyway?

 

Classic Collection would be more made to run on the DS original cart though, Megadrive emu may have a few bumps, but on the whole not bad...

 

I've done all that (including patching the jEnesis file to the R4 Driver) but every time I go to load the file on my DS, it flashes briefly with the normal loading sequence, then that disappears and the DS just crashes...also, is it SMD or GEN files I need to be using?

 

make sure your roms end with .smd or .gen or .bin

Are you rom unpacked from there .zip or .rar arcive ?

Yep, all unzipped. I'm trying Sonic Crackers at the moment, but 1: I can't get the actual Emu to load and 2: Even though the .smd file for Crackers is on my SD Card, it doesn't show up on the DS.

 

Since the Collection was also developed by jEnisisDS, isn't the collection and the downloadable roms pretty much one and the same?

The Apprentice seems to only play SMS and GG games, but I'll give it a try and see if it works.

Having the same problem with the Apprentice as with the jEnesis. Is there a step-by-step guide I can follow anywhere? There must be ONE thing I'm not doing/doing wrong... >_<

 

I forgot to say what type of R4, Its possible it could be that

 

Just a word of advice, do not try to download knuckles in sonic 2 or knuckles in sonic 3, or any big folders for that matter as it won't work.

If you want your own Sonic collection then I reccomend looking for these roms:

Sonic Compliation (that's Sonic 1, Sonic 2 and Mean Bean Machine) or download the three separately.
Sonic 3
Sonic and Knuckles.

BTW I'm using an R4 and what you want to do is make a jEnesis folder and and folder titled games within it and put all the roms in there, then when you load your R4 up, just click on the folders.

My guess is though that there is no separate from for Sonic 3 AND Knuckles, the complete game?

I can't even tell if my R4 is an original one or not unless I take it apart. Will jEnisisDS and its games work if I use it without YSmenu?

 

You don't have to take it apart, www.r4ds.com is the original make if you still have the box i came in

Gonna download soon, but I wanna clarify, there's no Sonic 3 AND Knuckles rom? Playing either separately just isn't right. But I'm fine with no Knuckles in Sonic 2.
