I have a problem with my San Andreas game which only started to be like this a few days ago. When i play the game, the visuals are really weird and blotchy. The colours are all faded and the sharpness of the image is crap. Also, the buildings keep refreshing when i look at them even though the draw distance is at maximum. Is it to do with my monitor or with my game graphics setup? I have everything maxed out. Draw distance/resolution/Very High visual quality.

SO; what do i have to do to solve it?

    heres a picture

As you may notice. CJ's t-shirt is kinda faded and black near the bottom. It was always white before, but not now. Also you can see that some parts of the pavement have a different colour and blotches.

  2. Haven't tried any Ps2 based emulators, maybe you can teach me a thing or two later on.

Maybe it's your Graphic cards problem ?

Try to raise the settings slowly from low to high and see if there's a difference.

Im assuming this is the PC version. in which case I suggest you turn down the graphics.

Yes, its thepc version. But i have a high end graphics card (ATI hd4850) and it never used to be like this on 'very high' setting so why would changing the graphics setup change the blotches?

it reduces the load on the graphics card. the card could well be running too hot and its struggling to cope.

Have you tried updating your GFX drivers or reinstalling them?
Is your DirectX working fine when you run tests dxdiag.exe?

I know those seem like dumb questions but your driver's might be jacked up or a game file could be damaged

It looks/sounds like its filtering the graphics differently , try setting everything graphic back to "default" value (game & video card)

if it wasnt an ATI card i could help more with the config.

I've seen issues like this before. The truth is, the game simply doesn't like certain graphics cards. I forget if you can do so, but try running in software mode.

did you download the game or did u buy it coz if u download it there may be some problems with it. ur graphics card could be stuffed up or maybe ur monitor is causing the problems.

Well, a generic checklist of things >
[] Check for new drivers/ new CCC
    [] Run a system defrag
    [] Run in compatibility mode
[] Run>dxdiag and make sure everything works fine
[] Check the GPU itself to make sure it isn't dusty, as it will get very hot, that way
[] While in CCC, check the temperature of the card shortly after running a game, it shouldn't be past.... 80c
[] Update the game to the latest patch, or if in steam, do nothing.

anything I missed? Oh, and Google is your friend

    The emulation isn't perfect yet.

    Trust me on that.
