What's the best way to make a grilled cheese sandwich? Also, what are you favorite recipies that are easy to do. Things like an oven or mixer may be used, but things like a premade mix may not.

So you tell me, what's the best grilled cheese / other easy recipe there is?

Premade mix for a grilled cheese?

Grab two slices of bread (preferred white, but wheat is ok).
Lightly butter the outside of the slices.
Put a slice of cheese on the inside.
Fry in a pan until the outside is brown.

    Done.

Velveeta is too creamy, and you get it all over. I prefer something like kraft singles.

you need to be British for the best cheese sandwich

    heat up your grill
toast lightly one side of each slice
    take it out
    butter the toasted sides
then spread Marmite on one side and put cheese on the other
and I'm not talking about any cheese it has to be British mature cheddar (best cheese in the world)
put it back in the grill and melt the cheese
take it out, put the two halves together
put it back in the grill and now finally toast the outer sides that you left alone earlier

hey presto you have the best grilled cheese sandwich in the word

I use vintage cheddar and lee & Perrins. (also I use a sandwich toaster rather than a grill)

    Yeah good old toastie makers.

I prefer a good thick slice of tasty or colby cheese, a handful of raw onion and a little bit of marmite, then throw her in the toastie maker.

marmite in a NZ thing, but im sure theres a US and UK equivalent: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marmite

I always thought that marmite was a by product of beer production, yeast spread. Vegemite is the vegetable extract, similar to marmite but tastes like ass lol. Kiwis tend to eat marmite and aussies tend to like vegemite lol.

    Marmite is good stuff.

I use Mainland, good stuff. Sometimes I add ham etc. (without the marmite).

In a bowl mix some grated cheddar, dijon mustard, a dash of Worchester sauce & some double cream. Take a thick slice of bread, toasted one side. On the other, butter & some mozarella slices then top off with the mixture, toast until golden! Enjoy!!

Get some wholemeal bread, British White Cheddar, chop some mushrooms and red onion up, get some good quality low-fat butter and get some oregano
First Toast the bread a little bit so it's a little bit toasted spread the butter on then put the cheese on then the the oregano and finally the mushrooms + onion, toast until golden and there you have it!
    Awesome

Oh and some may like pepper on but you would have to switch that with the oregano

I do it the lame boring original way. But I like to make the bread sourdough and I make the bread garlic bread.

I love garlic bread, it's also very very very good if you use some sort of garlic bread type dough with Pizza. Best pizza EVER.
