Graphics card fan not spinning as fast as it should?

Basically it spins really slowly, slow enough for me to stop with my finger and not really feel any "pain" so to speak.

Because of this the card just keeps getting hotter and hotter until my pc cuts out.

If I nudge the card I can sometimes get it to spin at the normal speed. I did this about 3 days ago and it's lasted until now.

    It's a ATI Radeon 4800 HD series.

Any ideas on what I can do? I'm having trouble "nudging" it so it can spin at the right speeds again and I don't wanna harm it so I rather posted this question here.

I'm not really sure at what temperature it cuts out, but I've seen it go as high as 101 degrees Celsius at which point I turned off my pc.

I've had a graphics card at 124c without any undue long term effects (although the protection mechanism kicked in at 115c). If you can't use software to control the fan speed (AMD overdrive), then consider removing the fan and cleaning/replacing it.

Well I just realized that if I turn my PC sideways it spins at the intended speed lol. So my PC is in a horizontal position atm.

Maybe it just needs some WD 40.

Yeah I checked AMD Overdrive and all it lets me change are GPU and memory clock settings, I don't see any fan controls though I think I saw a thread somewhere that showed you how. I'll check my history.

I can take it in to a pc place later today (it's about 5 am) not sure what they can do that I can't though.

Took it in today, it's gonna cost me a bit since they need to replace the entire heat sink with an aftermarket one.
